Project Description

Bicol is the fifth region of the Philippine archipelago and a picturesque land located 449 kilometers from the Rizal Monument in Rizal Park. It has been known for its special delicacy that was spread throughout the entire country.  The Bicol Express and Kinalas are the most common and best-tasting dishes serve not only in the region but all over the country. Another famous dish that originated from the Bicol region is the Pinangat, made from mainly taro leaves and coconut milk which is abundant in the region.

Naga City is one of the best makers of Pinangat throughout the country, despite of the fact that it propagated to different version through time. The team decided to search and explore the whole city to show and discover the anatomy of the original authentic Pinangat found here in Bicol.

This blog features mostly everything about Pinangat – the preparation, the serving and plating, and how people comment and react about Pinangat. Lastly, the video blog aims to inform and let people appreciate, especially Filipinos, everything about Pinangat, starting from its wonderful history to the elegant plating of the dish.
